Rear bump stops

Just noticed one of the rear bump stops has falled off (seen it on the floor) are there ment to be 2 of them? as theres now none under my car and what are they fitted to?

They should "sit " under the rear spring shackles , U shaped spring.The shackles clamp the leaf springs to the rear axle.
The rubber is bonded to the shaped metal foot plate.This has, over the years, rusted away and the rapid re-connecting with the tarmac after a speed hump/ pot hole has enabled it to part company !
Before re-ordering new ones have a critical look at the rest of the rear suspension set up and see what else needs replacing
before you take it apart.A clean up with a wire brush on the metal work might be OK ( ? ) but new nuts and spring pads,etc will put it all back in fine fettle.
Treat any old parts being re-used with a rust treatment and some paint before re-assembling, if you want it to last.
