I guess I already know the answer, but what is the consensus of opinion on fitting temperature and pressure gauges?

Both v. useful and highly recommended. Oil gauge in particular will tell you a lot about the health of the engine - as I found out.

If you have the gauges make use of them, I find an amp gauge very helpful as well.
