I have in the past tore in to issues with great enthusiasm, only to wish latterly that I had asked first.
Where Angels fear to tread you see.
So here we go, my 1098 ignition light simply blew a bulb, so I replaced it,this occurred when I had the speedo out while wiring in a temp gauge,I duly replaced the bulb, which did not blow, but still does not light up when I first turn the key.
Any thoughts anyone or anything obvious?
Not a big problem as of course the car runs fine without.
Thanks in anticipation.
Dick.

Possibly a loose connection in the bulb holder; they can be fiddly sometimes. Take the holder complete with bulb out, switch on ign and turn the bulb about (whilst the holder is earthed of course) and see if that works. If it doesn't then trace the wiring back and check for fraying etc.
Odd that the bulb blew, they usually last forever - are all other electrics OK?

What value (rating) bulb did you put in?

Hard to see how it would 'blow' with the speedo out - since it is in a sealed twin wire bulb holder - so no chance for it to be wrongly connected...... What happened to it?

Not sure, could be one of those coincidences I dont believe in, the power rating is 2.2watts.
I just wondered if there was an obvious answer but no worries I shall fiddle with it at the wekend.
Thanks chaps.
