I have used the blowlamp method before, it works but it burns all the paint off.
I have also used a large screwdriver with the correct end to fit the screws exactly. the screwdriver had a hex shank on it which I put a ring ended spanner on and pushed the screwdriver in while turning the spanner. That worked too.
Impact screwdrivers I have never seemed to get on with for some reason.

Impact screwdrivers are not a magic tool but I've found them useful when given up with my best screwdrivers.
Generally you use the biggest bit you can find that fits the screw head

you get a small set of bits in the set with the driver. one of the large cross heads in the set fits the screws

Impact screwdrivers? brilliant, but you must be holding them
very firmly and have taken up all the slack in the direction in
which they are going to move BEFORE you hit them with a
LARGE hammer!

Yes, the 1st one I bought was fine (Halfords I think). I used it a lot and ended up breaking it in the end. the 2nd and 3rd ones (Draper maybe?) don't seem to work................
