Are there any mods that could result in getting a lighter clutch action? my daughter is next to drive the mog and finds it a challenge.
Also the current clutch despite being only about 3K miles old and completely renewed emits screeching noises on occasion when it has been in traffic, inching forward. Any suggestions as to uprating the release bearing or other insights into this problem?

a properly adjusted and fitted clutch should be light and easy to use.The squealing noise sounds like bearings ,is any thing bent?

If the pedal has been incorrectly adjusted - or the clutch pedal 'ridden' - then the carbon wear pad on the release bearing assy has probably worn away to nothing. Was a new one fitted at the clutch change? You must NEVER sit with foot on clutch when driving an A Series car...... To lighten the clutch slightly - you can reduce the return spring tension - and/or increase the length of the operating arm. But as above - the pedal should be light - too light for me , in fact!!

Sometimes a heavy clutch action can be caused by worn bushes in the clutch linkage. Check this easy and cheap fix first before removing engine or box to get at the clutch! However, squealing does sound like release bearing.
