Sourcing a series 2 water pump and solving a lack of spark.

Hi all, I'm currently fannying around with 2 minors trying to get them going and somewhat roadworthy.
First off there's a split screen with a water pump bearing leaking, trying to find a replacement is proving fruitless and I don't fancy my chances of replacing the bearings. Could anyone point me in the direction of one?
Also is another minor, not splitscreen, without a spark. I've narrowed it down to either the rotor arm, the distributor cap or the plug leads. Not having much experience with petrol engines I don't really know which of these is most likely to have faults. (I've got a diesel land rover so no requirement for sparks)
If anyone could help shed any light on my issues, it would be appreciated...

Hi,
Hopefully the links below will help. The most expensive one is the 803cc pump, so I hope you have one of the other engine sizes!
With regard to your lack of spark, all the items you mention are not expensive, so if the items on your car are well worn anyway why not renew the lot, I'm sure it would help make for more reliable running in the long run. They are all available on the site in the links below.

Thanks, but your links don't work for me. (it may be my phone so I'll have to try on a laptop or just search that site)
How can I tell which engine I have? Engine numbers or are there physical telltales?

The 803cc (standard Series II engine) has a different oil filter to the other engines, which makes it easy to identify. It's a horizontal screw-in cannister, whereas the 948 and 1098 cars have a vertical assembly, with a cartridge type element inside. Water pumps for 948 and 1098 cars are cheap and readily available. 803 pumps were hard to get hold of, but as has already been said, I think you can get them now (ESM website?) as I think a batch were manufactured recently.

It'll be an 803 then. Typical! Oh well, as long as I can get one...
Spark:
Spark from coil ht lead.
Replaced distributor cap and rotor arm with known good ones from series 2, didn't have correct screwdriver to swap leads round so took number 1 plug out. Fired on 3 cylinders, number 1 plug sparking.
Swapped rotor arm back, didn't fire. (not compatible with different cap?)
Swapped back again, still didn't fire.
Managed to find a screwdriver, swapped number 1 lead to original one so it reached, didn't fire on that either.
Is that helpful to anyone? (it certainly isn't to me!)

Hi,
My links were to the Bull Motif site, but ESM or The Morris Minor Centre Birmingham (David Manners) or Tom Roy will all be able to help. Don't forget to renew the gasket as well as the pump. If in doubt of what you need ring them, they're all very helpful.
Engine numbers are located on the side of the engine , see picture. But, as covered in another topic on this site, it's the first few numerals that are the clue:
10M = 1098cc
9M = 948cc
8M or AHPM (so I'm led to believe)= 803cc

Engine number on side of the block on the offside by any chance?
I managed to find the water pumps by searching (obviously). Google didn't throw up the sites when I looked or I overlooked them. Thought some people with experience of finding minor parts would be better than google!

Yes, under front spark plug, there will either be a plate or it will be stamped into the block.

So - it fired up when you swapped cap and rotor arm? The problem is simple to resolve then - buy a cap and a rotor arm - cost is very low. The old 803 water pumps are expensive - so seriously consider overhauling the one you have.
