Yes a bit of a fiddle, I first tried putting red rubber grease on the gasket starting it off in the channel then pulling---forget it.
The way I did it in the end was by entering one side of the gasket into the channel a few inches and with a piece of timber, shaped into a bluntish screwdriver end, worked along easing the other side into the channel, and repeated a bit at a time. I did this dry and used the timber tool to avoid damage. When you start don't have any unnecessary rubber overhanging as when you get to the end you may be short. The manufactures don't believe in giving anything away.

I fitted them using string the way you would with a windscreen. The string will hold it together while you start it with a screw driver and gradually ease the rubber over the edge from the inside out. Then fit the sealing strip again with a screw driver and a lot of patience....... I fitted a rear screen in a pick up the other day which is just a bigger version of the van door type.

Soak them in hot soapy water and try fitting when warm :)

hi

thanks for the replies but i spoke to my local body shop and they suggested fairy liquid. i found that is you paint a little onto
the "T" section of the seal and pushed it into the grove and then pushed it into the other section and it worked. i used lemon and lime fairy liquid i suppose and flaver will work but at least they are now in and i can now enjoy a xxxx or in scotland we have tennents.

thanks for the replies and onto the next section problem that it is going to throw at me

regards

rod

The problem with washing up liquid is that it's full of salt to make it seem thick, not really recommended, don't be tempted to use it in your screen wash either.
