Hi, I now need too reconect the bottom lower joint to the torsion bar after replacing the chassis leg, would be easy if the car was not on it's side bolted to a rollover jig, my question is can I tension it now some how so it can be reconected, or do I have too wait until the body is finished and upright, thanks.

You could use a pull strap of some kind - but make sure it can't slip!

One of the Minor restoration books shows a commercial restorer unloading the torsion bar with the car on its side.
He was using a big stillson /pipe wrench to lever the cast iron suspension arm. I have done it and it worked. You need to be a fairly strong bloke to do it (with apologies to female readers). It is dangerous though and you would probably need a helper to reload the suspension and reassemble the parts. That would be more hazardous than unloading it I reckon. The rollover jig would need to be securely locked against rotation and protected against moving wrt the floor.
So... only to be attempted with great caution.
Cheers
Don

Thanks for the tip, but Iv'e thought of maybe another way around it, if I undo the top link and reconect the bottom, then used some thick wire to bind the top link together tightend with pliers!, it's just a rolling shell so should be ok
