As long as you have kept the original parts , this is a reversable operation so mildly admonished but understand mitigating reasons.

Refit the C39 dynamo immediately!
Other points:-
Is the car neg earth.
How did you fit the fan belt, the original is a wide section belt and the alternator takes a narrow belt which will slip on the wide pulleys
A series MM does not need the output from an alternator
If you need to change the dynamo then fit the alternator to a newer car and the dynamo off that car on to the MM until you find a C39

I agree, although I don't understand the need to fit an alternator. Dynamo on a Minor is fine!

Contact ESM of Bull Motif, they are both used to sending parts abroad!

I still think it's personal choice as to whether you fit an alternator. I fitted an alternator when my dynamo seized as I did a lot of driving with windscreen wipers, lights and wanted to fit a heated rear window. It made sense to fit one.

Although the parts are easily available in this country abroad it means that the car is off the road whilst a new dynamo is ordered/sent to that country. It is therefore more sensible to fit an alternator as they can be sourced locally.

It doesn't "damage" the original structure of the vehicle which can soon be returned to original.

It depends what the minor is running with regards to extra electrics. Many fit a radio (and possibly amp), heated screens etc.. Also a lot easier to source a replacement alternator locally :)
