Ha Ha,

indeed, and I was thinking I should carry garlic cloves for those extra long journeys, or feast on baked beans prior to a rally.
The other car name that should never have got past the committee meeting was the Micra wave, a small box that cooks rapidly......perfect.It may be spelled a little differently but somebody should have had the courage to shout it down.

Perhaps they should have called it the Renault "Mistral" after the strong wind that gathers in the South of France certainly better than just "Wind"!!

Perhaps something got lost in translation?

the name mistral was used by a nissan 4x4 thing in the 90's.
i saw a WIND in real life and it is too tall, too narrow and too short.. it just fails on so many levels in the flesh

Another cracker from Nissan was the name given to a car released only in Japan,an executive car in fact that needed an amount of kudos and suggested the driver had "made it," a European flavour, with just a hint of upper class, a little "je ne sais quoi" so they clled it the Nissan "Cedric "

I kid you not.

Nissan Cedric is positivly classy compared to one of Toyota's attempted to enter the European car market...
