Hi , was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the info on the number codes that are punched on the chassis id plate . (top rh on bulkhead )
I found the main numbers on a site which give the codes for saloon/ van etc.... but there are other numbers , the first starts with 'Z' and then 8 numbers with a dash inbetween ??

Thanks..........civilian Lcv....that does make sense as the one on the door doesnt have anything like gpo , so I guessed it may have been private use- but ....I was hoping it was a paint code- because each time i think ive found the '0riginal colour' layer....i find another somewhere else !

LCVs were often supplied in primer for painting in fleet colours

65-71 GPO/PO van interior dash panels matt black.

Enthusiasts should NEVER date/identify vehicles solely by the chassis number - if in doubt, check the cab/body numbers!!!
