Hello,

Here's a topic i'm sure hasn't been discussed much! When removing the timber frame, rear roof section etc. from the rest of the car, is it ok to just have the car sitting on the ground or is it necessary to sit it on stands/supports? I'm wondering if there can be problems with the chassis twisting out of shape when the frame comes off. To be honest, theres not much of my frame left anyway so it probably cant move anymore than it has. I'll have the car sitting on a flat driveway when I do it.

Any other tips for preperation before removing the frame? I've looked through other threads on the subject of traveller restoration but anymore info is always welcome.

Unless it's as rotten as a pear it should be fine.

All the metal work is solid and straight so I'm thinking it should be ok then.

You should be ok. Keep the doors shut when fitting the wood as this will keep the cab section "square".

Silly thing I know but make sure all the tryes are the correct psi. I know of someone who replaced all his wood with the driver's side tyres flat He got the wood level and fitted, and then inflated his tryes only to find the wood was crooked !!!

Take your time it's not an easy job, but very rewarding once you've done it.
