Is this panel available?

Been browsing through the websites of all the usual suspects, and can't find this panel anywhere. All I can find is a repair section for the very bottom of the 'C' post, which by the looks of things wouldn't extend far enough up to repair this grot. Does anyone know if it's available? Won't be needing it immediately, but some time over the next year or two.

Hi,
The Morris Minor Centre Birmingham Ltd list a 'C' pillar repair 4 door left and right hand (REP070 & 071), if this is what you are looking for? They are on: 0121 544 5522
Hope this is of some help.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to phone them up and ask how far that repair section extends. Judging by the price, it'll be the same panel as the others I've seen on the ESM and BM websites, which don't really extend far enough (as far as I can tell) to repair all the rot in the picture.

Not sure if that part rarely rots and therefore no panels are/were ever available, or if it's a temporary supply interruption due to the demise of LMC Hadrian.

Hi, Chris,
If not, others on here have mentioned having a chat with 'TOM ROY' (01642 723400) can be very useful, perhaps give him a try?
Best wishes,
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Just had a look at Tom Roy's website, which lists the £18 repair panel, but also "4dr C post NLA £0.00" (presumably meaning no longer available). Not looking good :-?. That said, I've just had a look at a 2005 Bull Motif catalogue I found in my bookshelf, and there's no mention of this panel in there either. Maybe they've never been available, or unavailable for a very long time?

I'm also going to be needing repair sections for the panels at the side of the boot (difficult to describe - the ones with the lead loaded join, between the side of the boot aperture and the rear wings). Can't seem to find these anywhere either :-?. Pretty sure I remember these being on sale a few years ago.

Fortunately I won't be needing these panels for a good while yet, so if it is some sort of supply disruption related to the collapse of LMC Hadrian, hopefully production will be up and running again before I need them. If not, it's going to make it very difficult indeed to repair her properly :(.

HI
i have bad news on this panel these were made by henric. as you all know lmc hadrian ended up with the machines and tooling.this was one of the tools that never got into production . hence not being available for some time .when the lmc hadrian site was being cleared this was among many to be scrapped.

Oh dear :(. Thanks for the info.

I had emailed ESM on Thursday to enquire, but haven't heard anything back yet. Doesn't sound like it's going to be good news then.

The C pillar piece (of which I've fitted a few!) does not reach that far up.

You will need to make the panel yourself by folding up a length of steel and using a shrinker stretcher to put the correct curve shape. Then using the wing mounting flange to close off inside the inner wing.

But yes. they don't often rust that far up, even my rough project 4-door hasn't rusted through that far up!

I may actually start making some repair sections for the Minor that are not currently available like the bump stop repair panels and these C- pillar sections for the 4-door.

Had a reply from ESM today, saying they do not make, and have no plans to make these panels :(.

Unfortunately as I don't have any metalworking equipment (or skill), making my own curved repair sections is a non-starter. Not looking forward to learning how much it'll cost to get them made :-?.
