Hiya,

Whilst at the national an exceedingly nice gentleman offered me a full set of traveller wood, second hand but in much bloody better condition than mine!!!

The problem now is working out when to/how to fit it! I know roughly what I'm going to have to do, and I have a mate who I will rope into helping me!

Just wondering if there are any experienced MMOC members willing to lend a hand, i can offer pub lunches ETC!!! :D :D :D

If not i think i will just get the cables ties out for it! 8)

Yes, your local branch is a good first call!

Be aware though that once you get the wood off you may very well find some welding work that needs doing as rotten wood is usually hiding some rotten steel as well!

As well as the obvious visible screws and bolts holding the sides of wood to the body of the car, there are also a few screws hidden behind the upper B post vertical window felt runner and of course the gutters on the traveller roof.

These are actually made of an approximately "U" shaped piece of aluminium, holes are drilled through the bottom of the "U" channel, through the roof and into the top rail of the side of wood. You then nail through these holes, through the roof and into the wood top rail, and the inner half of the ali "U " channel is then carefully tapped down to hide the nails and form the attractive gutters/ roof moulding we see on the car. The Gutter pieces are in two halves that meet in the middle over the rear door join.
