have any members got any tips for cleaning the inside of the car, including seats, but mostly the vinyl side trim. mine's maroon, or used to be when it left the showroom, but i'd now like to shine her up again after many years of ingrained grime.
any advice on the best product(s) to use would be much appreciated.

Autoglym Vinyl cleaner is grand and gives it a lasting, rich shine, but I would recommend you clean it first as other members have said if the grime is that bad.

a second thumbs up for Vanish soap- was tested by Practical classic years ago (when the magazine was still OK) and was the surprise winner for cleaning vinyl trim. Much cheaper too than any proprietary commercially available vinyl cleaner.
Vanish will remove all the grime and bring the vinyl back looking like new, then simply protect with Armorall non- shiny formula.

Shocking I know but I use spray kitchen cleaner. Spray on, scrub a bit and wipe off. Protect with some leather type cleaner and its fine as anything. Cheap too

Yes, all good motor factors and car accessory places sell this. It is in a squirty bottle rather than an aerosol can.

Bit of a thread revival I know, but I recently used a product called 'Elbow Grease' Xtra Tough to clean my 1970 Traveller's vynide interior, and it came up a treat.
Spray it on, leave to soak for a few minutes then wipe off with a damp cloth. Use a nail brush if necessary on deeply ingrained areas.
