Smoking Exhaust

1275 Engine - New head gasket some months ago. Engine runs fine but on revving there is a fair bit of smoke out of the exhaust. Just fitted oil pressure gauge and it shows about 40PSI at idle and 60PSI when moving. No water loss - no misfiring. Would like to know what to check and in what order so any advice appreciated. My initial thoughts are 1. Carburation (Too rich/worn needle etc.), 2. Oil Pressure relief valve? 3. Air Filter 4. or is there some more sinister that needs looking at?

Thanks

What's the mileage? Blue smoke indicates worn piston rings and oil burning.

Is there 20W 50 in your sump or perhaps it's been topped up with thinner stuff ie 10W 40 by a garage?

Oil pressure looks fine - a compression check is called for. A cylinder head overhaul with new seals and new guides may help - I have little faith in this myself - but others have reported great success, so I pass it on more out of duty than from any real hope that it will help! What DOES help is to have good suction on the crankcase - so fumes are drawn away and there is no undue pressure to push oil up past the rings.
