Brake light switch

My brake light switch has failed (tested by shorting the two wires together and they work) , with my mot very imminent (in time for the national!) And there isn't a morris minor specialist within reasonable driving distance. I was wondering whether any other classic cars, possibly mini? (if so roughly what year?) used the same brake light switch?
Thanks.

The problem is the unusual thread on the switch. I have read of land Rover switch being used. Mini one no use..... Fit a microswitch that activates from the pedal movement - should be easy enough - that's how all modern cars do the job.

Not so easy with floor hinged pedals, modern car pedals are top hinged

Not too difficult either! Set the switch (with long flexi lever) so that the lights are held OFF when the pedal is in the release position - slightest pressure takes the pedal away from the switch - and the lights immediately come ON.

Get one from one of the specialists, Tom Roy, ESM etc. They post 1st class and it should arrive next day.

Oh and an early Mini one didn't fit my car.
