Just about to refit the prop shaft to a new differential.
The official workshop manual emphasises that it is very important to mark the joint between shaft & diff prior to dismantling.
Obviously a different diff won't have a mark, so should one just road test it, then keep re-positioning 90 degrees until the least vibration is found?

You could do this but if the is vibration you can't get rid of using the very limited options then you can fit a large jubilee clip and rotate it until there is no vibration.
Or have the prop-shaft balanced.
I'd be surprised if there is a problem just fitting it.

IMMSMC the bolt holes are offset so that it will fit 0 or 180 deg. Correct?

Looked as if they were equally spaced, unless it was a very small degree of offset and I just got it positioned right first time!
