Hi,

I've removed all the glass from my car with no issues (except a brown trouser moment with the windscreen!), however the door glass is firmly glued in place. The U-channel which is connected to the winder has another U-shaped rubber strip in it which has perished and glued the window in place. Suggestions anyone?

This happened to me recently the way I managed to free mine was to use liberal amounts of WD40 and various thin knives including parerscrapers but do not try and push the knife in too deep into the rubber only go at it a small amount at a time then keep using the WD40 eventually I found it got all the way around and with gentle side to side rocking of the channel it came free, I would hasten to add this took about 2 hrs for each window

if its the metal strip that is attached to the glass where the winder arms fix.Leave well alone,you will find that it is difficult to stick back on so when you use the winder it pulls off the glass ,leaving it loose in the side channels.Why do you need it off,from memory the glass with the bar still attached comes out in one piece once the surround is removed from the door.
