Just a reminder with the current outbreak to clean out your washer bottle and renew the fluid. How long has that water been standing there? Use proper screenwash fluid with water mixed to the correct ratio.
This disease is contracted through water vapour - so when you have the window down and put the screenwasher on you are breathing it in.
If you are not getting a good blast of water on the screen unplug the pickup pipe from the bottle and remove the mesh filter from the bottom and give it a good wash. I have had to do this on many cars with decades of crud build up and the difference to the washer jet is incredible.

Re: Washer bottles and Legionnaires' disease
While on this topic..............
When going abroad to an appartment in warm areas be very carefull when using the shower for the first time. If possible take the shower head off the wall and place it near the plug hole and let very hot water run through.
A guy at work died from Legionaire`s by standing under a shower and breathing in thefine water particles.

Re: Washer bottles and Legionnaires' disease
hi all
legionares is only prevalent at certain temperatures.
i think that you are fairly safe with washer bottles, it's certainly shower heads you need to be carefull with.
shower heads are not country freindly they are the same in GB GREECE ROMANIA etc, etc
it's the temperature you need to be more carefull of,
sorry i cant tell you the temp range of the disease but if you go onto a search you will probably find the answer
