Time to address Woody's windscreen. Glass on one side has a small star crack, both glasses are begining to deliminate. PO did a terrible 'make-do' job with incorrect rubber and didn't even install the center support (don't ask!). I bought new rubber from BM, found original trim and had it re-chromed. Took the whole lot and went to visit a local auto-glass company who have lots of experience with classic cars but not directly with Minors. They had a good look at it but were uncertain about exactly how the rubber fits, etc. Unfortunately we can't use what's on the car now as an example since it's definitely not correct.

I'm hoping somebody with some expertise can confirm from the photos that I do indeed have the correct rubber and can confirm what each of the slots in the rubber is for. First off, here's the new rubber. Does it look like the correct one? Is 'Side A' the part that goes toward the inside of the car and 'Side B' toward the outside?[frame][/frame]

Assuming I got that right so far, this slot HAS to be for the glass (it's the only one big enough).[frame][/frame]

If I've got the orientation correct, then this flap would go inside the car, correct?[frame][/frame]

There are two slots in Side B of the rubber. Is Slot 1 what fits over the actual edge of the window opening? Is Slot 2 what the chrome trim hooks into?[frame][/frame]

And finally...is the windscreen installed from inside the car, Slot 1 from the above photo is worked out over the winow opening using a cord? Once installed the chrome trim is then fit into Slot 2.

Can anybody provide good close-up photos of both the inside and outside of the rubber after installation (with and/or without chrome trim). Many thanks.

Yes thats about right,but without going into the technicalities of how to fit,and there are many ,I can do it on my own but others take three or four people,but my method is far from the one in the book,PLEASE just do a search,has been discussed more times than how to bleed brakes.Or the merits of wolseley brakes ,But don't be disapointed with the final fit,unless the rubbers are better over there,they simple don't fit properly and need a lot of fiddling and bonding in the corners

There's a thread started 5 June under bodywork which should help you. We have fitted a BM rubber to a splitscreen -it took time (and few rude words)! Yes we did still get few leaks mainly from the lower corners, but something like Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure usually does the trick.

Thanks. That other thread is useful. Can anyone post close up photos of how it looks after installation - inside and outside. Installer said it'd be helpful to see an example of the finished product.

Thank you David. Those are good, especially the second one. The installer asked for some good pics of the finished product from inside and out so he can see how it's supposed to look when completed. Would appreciate if you could also take one or two of the outside showing the chrome trim fit.

wet in ireland !!!! I was in WESTPORT and all around that fantastic part of the world , last week now I know how all the lakes get filled up

Make sure he seals the centre strip well and uses a brand new rubber there. That's where the leaks usually get in. And good idea using an installer. It's a pig of a job!
