is there no way we can prevent sellers and traders joining our club when their only intention is to flog dodgy goods to our members
something like you have to be a member for at least three months before allow to sell
(many only joined the night before they start selling)
perhaps other members can suggest even more ways to prevent and in some way protect our unsuspecting members

If I recall correctly, traders aren't allowed to advertise on this site. And if we have a three month wait it will eliminate those who join just to sell a car or parts, possibly with little personal interest but trying to the do the decent thing in offering items to enthusiasts first rather than just ebaying or binning them - say clearing a deceased estate for eg. We as enthusiasts would then loose out.
Personally, as an enthusiast (1st) and a 'trader' (whatever that means) (2nd), I dislike the no advertising rule, but accept that some folk would take advantage and be constantly advertising, so I don't get too involved either critisising the rules, or with the advertising section at all, so I've presuambly missed out on the adverts for the 'dodgy goods' you are complaining about.

Agreed Iain. I bought my Minor off an ad here from a club member who had only just joined the messageboard and never posted before so restricting postings to those who have only been members for 3 months or more would likely be a detriment to messageboard members.
Alexander - I have posted a response to your similar message in this thread:
http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=45223 Your thread title gives the impression that you are aware of people being 'ripped off' by sellers here, or have personally been 'ripped off' by a seller here, yet you have not provided any details to the moderators so please do so if this is actually the case.
Buyers & sellers should make every effort to ensure that they are happy with goods, transactions, payment, postage etc and in cases where problems arise - which is very rarely - there is a dispute process in place for members to report any problems with buyers or sellers.
