Master cylinder overhaul

I thought I'd treat my daughters 1960 948 to a brake master cylinder overhaul. (Yes, I know it's under the floor!). But, on looking through the Haynes manual I find that I need to practically dismantle the entire O/S front suspension to get to the thing. I thought Moggies were easy to work on?

Hi,
Try it using this method, you then dont need to remove the torsion bar.

Thanks Richard, that looks a lot more doable!

The author says to put the bolts back opposite to how they came out, when I did mine I put them back the same way they came out.
Its reassuring to know that if for any reason the nuts come off the bolts will stay put and the brakes wont fail!!!

Hi Richard, Many thanks for the tips - they worked a treat, especially as I have had the master cylinder on and off several times now!!!
