Well this poped up on the owners club: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=44233 and with in a few moment i had mailed the guy, before talking to my parents.
well here is the car the day i picked it up
[frame]Image[/frame]

when getting it home a few questions were asked about why the car sits in such a nice way: [frame]Image[/frame]
I then sorted this problem:
[frame]Image[/frame]

As the car didnt have a log book it did mean i had to wait till that came before starting!
on the 31 of may the Log book cam! :D
i then spent friday sorting the boot out! that was striped down and re-painted as it didnt need any welding, then spent sunday striping down the floor on the inside of the car. Had to do a bit of welding now its waiting for a re-paint and a little more welding :D
[frame]Image[/frame]

saddly the rain today (sunday) has stopped me! hoping tomorrow i will be able to finish the inside and get the engine out for the car to be rolled over tuesday :D and then i can also start rebuilding an 1098 that i got with the car :D i have a 1300 head ready to go on to this :)
just got to hope the weather stays nice!

Well all the welding is now finished, and under sealed, now just finishing the brakes, have had a few problems with the front brakes not wanting to play ball. So now going to but 1098 drums on the front! I have now got the exhaust on! It's all strapped on with cable ties :D (the Morris minor Center were out of straps :/)

My brakes are still not right! I am 100% sure there are no leaks (the peddle doesn't slowly sink to the floor)
All of the brakes are adjusted, if anything they or over adjusted!
I have bleed the system about 100 times! I have almost sent a 1L of brake stuff though it!
Has anyone got any idea as to what the problem could be? Or what I should do next :/

Air must be leaking in. Staring at the master cylinder check that all the nuts are tight and look clean. Also I know you don't want to hear it, but the pipes and rubber hoses are 60 years old so this may be a good time to replace them all. Try to avoid copper pipes and make sure you use new copper washers or reanneal the ones you have. If that fails to make a difference then I would think about renewing the master.

I have replaced everything but the master cylinder.
The master cylinder is fine, no leaks, was told to leave the car jacked up at the front with something on the brake pedal and this has seemed to have helped! I now have some pressure in the pedal! :)

i havent posted on here in some time!!
right!
the brakes!
someone told me to leave some weight on the peddal over night and see what happened, and some how that worked! the next morning my brakes were solid! :D :D
(then gave them some more bleading etc etc)

ok! then i took my car to the MOT station.... as its MOT exempt i took full advantage of this and payed £20 for my MOT man to give my car a very good look over and brake tests and things! :D he told me all was good it would be an MOT pass, told me what i should do next, and yeah!

i also had to get my large bore exhaust cut and changed to fit?!!? for some reason it wouldnt line up! and after it was cut and changed it was still blowing slightly so i have now got a 3 branch system! :D

this car was an 948 when made and would have had an 803 gear box, when i got the car someone had fitted a 1098 box :D so i went and fitted a 1098, with a 1275 head and HS4 carb! :D However i didnt think about the back diff -.- turned out that was a 5.3 diff -.- made pulling off the lights good fun! :D
luckly i got a 3.9 off the owners club for a great price! and was able to use my local garges ramps to fit it :D[frame]Image[/frame]

i have had a few people make comments to me about how they dont like what i have "done" to my car!!
my car has spent 18+ years in the rain on an air field, and has been very weathered, i havent "done" anything! [frame]Image[/frame]
[frame]Image[/frame]
[frame]Image[/frame]
[frame]Image[/frame]

my engine with its lush exhaust :D[frame]Image[/frame]

i love this engine to bits! its so powerful! :D
however something is making a very bad sound from in side it! i thouht it was the tappits! so me and Chris (more chris) re set them :D turned out he could fit every single gauge in the gap between my tapers! :D
after being set there was still a bad sound :( :(
so the next day i took it to my friends house for them to have a look, and we found the tapers to be out by 30 again!?!? we then noticed something![frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
in the head changing, i must have put the 1300 tappers down and the 1098 and then re fitted the 1098 ones -.- and sold the 1300 ones with the 1098 block!

this still isnt the reason for the sound! a few people have said it could be the small end....
so towards the end of easter me and my friend are going to open the engine up and have a look :) :)
and im hoping to fit these :)[frame]Image[/frame]
imp pistons :D a few people told me they use to run them??
if anyone could tell me if they help? and how to fit them that would be ace :D

It's very rare for small ends to fail, I doubt the noise is caused by that.
Why did the gaps open up so soon is a better question.
The rockers will be fine, you just need to fit some washers or spacers to get them to line up properly with the valves.

Yes this is what I have been told, so going to open it up and have a good look!
Well yes spacers would work on 3/4 but others can't be spaced the way they want to go as the block bits of the rockers are in the way! There hitting very off Center so that's are only thought as to why they un set so quick :/
