Possible wiring problem?

I caught a wire from the lights switch while changing our ignition switch and now that I have reattached it the indicators don't consistently work.
When the lights are on the indicators flash alternately with the back lights.
When the lights are off the indicators work perfectly except when I brake they go off. Once I take my foot off the brake pedal they come back on :$

I have checked the wiring diagram and all the wiring seems to be in order.
Any suggestions?

Hello Prigglet,

it sounds like the rear lamp earths are defective?

Its probably just a bad connection. Clean all the contacts, esp the earths and make sure you didn't pull any earths off that you've missed.

Thanks for the help :)
I have had another look and looks like all is well, however I am pretty new to all this and I may have missed something.
Could anyone tell me where I should be looking to check all the earth's for my particular problem :)
I am getting the hang of the Haynes manual wiring diagram but still finding it a little difficult to locate everything :$

Any black wire is an earth and should be securely attached to another earth or the bodywork.
