Is my car an original colour?

:D Hi, I've just bought a 1956 series 2 split screen 2 door minor. It's beige with a red interior. Is beige an original colour? There are some small areas I'd like to touch up but not sure if it's an original colour or where to get the paint if it is. can anyone help?

Thanks

It sounds like Sandy Beige, available from Feb 55 to Sep 56. Not a too common colour as it was only used for a short while, but a nice colour scheme with the deep red interior.
I haven't got my colour codes to hand but no doubt someone will oblige, and any automotive paint supplier will be able to mix it up in theory, in either aerosol or tins to suit what you need.

Thanks. Nice to know it is probably original as it's a March 56 car.

It should look something like this van - also Sandy Beige (though colours often look different on photos, especially inside under lights, but you get the idea..)[frame]Image[/frame]

Hi JFs52e sandy beige BMC colour code is BE 15 or the ICI No is 6187, hope this helps. you can check to se if it is an original colour by looking at the Chassis No plate on the bulkhead make a note of the number and somewhere on here there is thread on how to work it out.

My Series 2 Tourer has been Sandy Beige from the day my uncle bought it in February 1956. My local garage, who are doing a re-spray, independently arrived at the same "15" Sandy Beige after consulting their paint supplier. And the sections he's done so far look gorgeous! I hadn't realised how matt the original had gone.
Get back to me if you have trouble sourcing it, or we may even have some left over.

Many thanks to everybody, I'm going to try and source some paint. I'll probably try and respray her in a couple of years (yes the same colour) but for now she's in good enough condition to just touch up hear and there :D

As someone kindly suooested to me take a glovebox cover (if fitted) with you to a local sprayshop. They should have colour charts. That way you can double check
