Rear Brake Back Plate

Hi
I bought a new rear brake back plate (L/H) from Bull Motif - it measure 8" across. Am I right in thinking that this should measure 7" across?

Well yes - the rear brakes are ' 7" ' but of course the backplate is slightly more than that 7" which is the internal diameter of the drum. Does it have the slot for the single cylinder ??? Or have they sent a front 8" backplate by mistake??
