Morris Minor Owners Club

I have been thrown into the Morris Minor restorers community by a chance conversation at the rugby club. Before this my restoration habit has been restricted to MGBs and Minis.

For both of these vehicles you can get "heritage" panels, manufactured from the original tooling and although they are more expensive the fit is great and it saves a lot of work.

Is there a similar situation for the Morris Minor? If not, can anyone recommend a manufacturer of panels that stands out in terms of quality and fit? I am about to start tackling the sill structure on my 1953 tourer.

If, as you say, you can get quality parts that fit for mgb and mini-----stick to those cars. We are not so lucky.

Best advice I can give is avoid the Sri-lankan panels where possible

There are indeed "heritage" panels available. They are better than the pattern parts, but not excellent.

Far luckier than most others though, says he who's just been making bits for an A30 and a large prewar car....

I've been using the "Sri-lankan" panels on both my 2 door and 4 door and whilst there not the best available, I've got on well with them - they need some work when fitting, but in regards of thickness of metal and price I think there very acceptable.
