Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could advise me what to use as gasket material when refitting the gearbox tunnel.
Thanks,
Dave

I think there is a gasket you can buy, but DumDum does the trick much cheaper...

Yes - it is a sealant, not a gasket.

I've heard that dum dum can be difficult to find - would "plumbers mait" be a suitable alternative? And also to bed in the fuel tank?

I used Sureflex roof and gutter sealant, it's black, doesn't set hard, waterproof, and £1.80 to do the floor and fuel tank, what more can you ask for?

As said, there's no gasket here. You could use sealant but it might trap moisture and make future removal difficult. I have seen grease used before and this is how I did mine.

Plus that should cost you nothing if you already have a tin in the garage. :)

origoinally would come as a strip of sealant
does need it as it stps the rain forcing through the tunnel when driving
