I have an old Autocar Magazine here from 1959 that says saloons start from £416 plus £174.9.2 purchase tax, hope that helps.

auto car on the 22 October 1954 gives the price range as £373 for the 2 door saloon to £438 for the de luxe edition traveller, but does not say what tax would be

According to the Daily Mail motoring guide for 1955 it gives the price of a four door model as £561
