Engine Cutting out
Just as everything was going well my Mini Me (1956 splittie) but it has developed a charming habit of suddenly cutting out as it trundles along. Depress the clutch, pull the starter and away it goes. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
Re: Engine Cutting out
Would really need to be a bad connection......when it happens - does the Ign light come on immediately? Other possibility is sticky fuel pump - but that usually gives spluttering/chugging before the engine stops altogether. Sudden /sharp cut off must be electrical. Check connections at coil and dizzy.

Re: Engine Cutting out
My Series MM cuts out occasionally, the ignition barrel is worn and the weight of the keys cuts the ignition.

Re: Engine Cutting out
Ah but it was not the coil IT WAS THE CONNECTION TO THE COIL THAT WAS AT FAULT

Re: Engine Cutting out
EXACTLY!! Well done - that's usually the problem -' never ' the coil itself.......
