Evenin' all
Last year I got locked out of the boot. There was no problem with the actual lock it was just that the handle turned & didn't release the lock. After breaking in I discovered that the square spindle from the handle wasn't locating in the hole of the lock.Initially I thought that the spindle had sheared off but I couldn't find the bit that had come off also there was no clean metal at the end of the spindle. All I can assume is that the lock mounted in the boot lid has moved away because when I tried to reassemble the lock the spindle was too short to locate in the hole. So, anyone got any brilliant ideas how to fix this? I thought I could just bend the lock mount in to narrow the gap or perhaps drill & tap the end of the spindle & put a screw & washer in there to pull the whole lot into line
Any thoughts?
