Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi all Morris Minor Owners,

I'm a freelance journalist who's looking to write an article about celebrities (big names and small!) who own or have owned Morris Minors.

So far I've got Harrison Ford and Whoopie Goldberg - I was wondering if any of you had any other suggestions? It'd be a huge help !

And if you yourself think you qualify as something of a superstar, please let me know as well!

I happen to know that Steve Coogan owns a Morris Traveller.

I believe that Pam Ayres did or does, and also Chris Evans (although I can't stand the man, I understand that others rank him as a celebrity) did have one, but I'm not sure whether Top Gear destroyed it for him.

Keeley Hawes has a white convertible which was a present from her husband. She was recently asked in an article what her most treasured possession was and replied:

My Morris Minor which my husband bought for me. I arrived home and said, "Can you believe what somebody's parked outside the house? It's so lovely!" And he threw the keys out of the window.

The model Helena Christiansen also has one and has said that it is the only type of car she's ever had.

That was a great help. I've not included Chris Evans in the list as I can't find anything about him owning one (and because he was so weakly endorsed as a 'minor' celebrity!)

I also managed to find a write up of Steve Coogan's Desert Island Discs appearance - apparently he'd take it as his 'luxury', so that was a handy turn up for the books.

Ive got Sir Laurence Oliviers old 2 door. Sig on old log book, and address in Brighton.
Also Terry Jones (python and the killer cars) has had a few.

Sir George Martin has a Smoke Grey Convertible.

Kate winslett has a traveller. She lives in Oxford.
