Finding MM insurance for London. Any tips?

Hi

I am finding it difficult to find an insurance company who will insure my recently restored Morris Minor in London. I'll be leaving the car on the road, and therefore cannot be covered by MMOC's preferred insurer Footman James.

Does anybody know of a good value insurer that covers Morris Minors for on road parking in London?

Thanks

Try Lancaster Insurance. My car sits in the drive and they were the only ones who would cover it as the others insisted it was in a garage.

I'm with footman james and keep my moggie on the drive, which I declared.I'm going to check today. :-?

I'm not sure you can always trust the sales person to give you their full attention when the bonus is being spent in his /her head :-? :-? :-? :-?

My classic bike policies both stipulate in a brick built garage with an anti theft device at all times, even whist in the garage overnight

Check with RH Insurance - there must be Minors on the street in London! But DO take the fuel pump safety precautions seriously....

Where in London?
Some post codes mean it's very hard to get any kind of insurance.
Mine is in SE18 but in a council garage, worth seeing if you can get one, I was surprised how easy and reasonably priced it was.

If the car is insured 'in garage' and just for one night it's left out - perhaps v early start (4 am) - and it's stolen - am I stuffed ??

I don't know, ask your insurer.

When this was on the news I wondered if insurers would pay out to people just visiting these areas?

I am in central London, parked on street and insured with Lancaster, although they did not require it, I did have a Thatcham Category 1 alarm & immobiliser fitted for my peace of mind.
