Door restraints

Has anyone devised a way of stopping the doors opening on to other cars, walls etc when getting out of the car? They seem to open very freely and if parked on a slight slope or it's windy they swing open. Is there some kind of friction device or other restraint to stop them opening fully. OK I know I should hold onto the strap but passengers who are not used to the car are caught out by the door opening too far.

Hi,
Do you have parts from the diagram 180-186 fitted to the door?

as above, do you have the 'check arm'? If so, you can adjust the opening distance by winding the nuts up the threaded arm.

I have had a quick look at the restraints and I seem to be missing the buffers shown on the Moss diagram! Will investigate more thoroughly when it stops raining evey day.
Thanks for the reference.
