Dies anyone know if a pram will fit in a saloon boot?

Depends on size of pram! You can remove the wood floor and supports - and put the spare wheel under the bonnet to get more space.

If you are tight on space, then remember that the rear seat will fold down, so that bits of the pram can protrude into the cabin - although that won't help if you need to put a child seat in the back!

Child seat? In the days before seatbelts children just roamed free in the back or sat on mum's lap.

Get a boot rack and bungey straps or a Traveller

Going to keep my eyes peeled for a cheap traveller to do up me thinks, I do all my own stuff so I can afford to get a rotter if needs be. (Just thought a saloon would be a cheaper option).

Now just to convince the Mrs that I need to keep my pickup and get a traveller too rather than replace the pick up with a traveller!

Remember that the wood is structural! Don't be temped to buy too cheaply or you will find that you will need to replace the entire wood which is v. expensive. False economy!

A pram will easily fit in the pick-up!

Only trouble with that is there are only 2 seats! Don't think the Police would think highly of the childseat in the rear!

A bit off topic here, but assuming thats your traveller in the signature pic what seats are in the front (appear to have headrests...)

Yep! Newton Commercial seats in the front. Very adjustable BUT the base of these and their 4 point mounting to the floor does make it more difficult for rear seat passengers to get in the back, especially if you're tall! (I don't carry rear passengers very often). They do however move forward very easily on their runners, and have headrests.

They are large enough to take a modern child seat either rear facing or forwards so if one of you doesn't mind going in the back they would be ideal. They're not cheap.

There are loads of second hand modern car seats which will fit the front of the Minor, but you will need to have a special base welded for them to fit the floor pan of the Minor. The Metro front seats did but they're hard to obtain now, and I believe Rover 100 and also Saab, but I don't know which model.

You can fit a Minor in a Silver cross pram!

You'd be amazed. Yes that Silver Cross will fit in the back of a Traveller. The lower part folds down and the top flattens as well and will sit on top Seriously though - the modenr folding "walkingstick" type of buggy will fit in the back of a Traveller (disgonally) but not in a saloon - tried it!

Yes a pram does fit a saloon boot. We had a britax 3 wheeler ehich easily fits into a saloon

This info potentially gives me a few more options, as generally saloons are cheaper than the Travellers

Dunno, but last time I heard how much my sister in law spent on a pram you could have bought a saloon with 3 months MOT for less!!!!! It might be easier to get a pram that folds quite small,then it should fit on the floor in front of the back seat?

We had a britax b smart series. The farm folds up, and you need to remove the wheels, which is a very simple procedure. The frame and pram can then be put into the boot. I am sure others will be very similar

AS our daughter grew we bought a stroller which we put in the footwell between the front and rear seats

I would not put a system on a boot rack -the boot option is very quick and easy
