Shut line

Wha is the ideal gap in the shut lines between the bonnet and the wings ????????

One that is reasonably equal both sides, up to half an inch is pretty typical.

The reason for the difference in paint is that the gent who had owned it since new wanted to preserve it in an original condition as possible, so only some of the car was resprayed, leaving the other panels with the original paint which, as you can see, is now badly faded.

I have no doubt that the bonnet is the original and it will not bend anymore to a better fit.[frame]Image[/frame]

I was talking more about the front and sides of the bonnet as shut lines, the back edge is generally pretty tight, though existent unlike JOWETTJAVELINs which appears to be touching the bodywork.
