Cleaning Wire Wheels

Hi,
anyone got any quick and easy ideas / ways for cleaning wire wheels? Unfortunately mine are chromed with chrome spinners and all the spray on and wash off wheel cleaning products, I've seen, don't recommend for use on chrome so I'd rather not try them. Otherwise I've been using an old toothbrush and Brasso which works fine but gets a little tiresome.

my porker had split rims... I thought they looked great originally, but cleaning 40 screwheads on each wheel is a pain - I can see why ppl in the know don't like them

At work we clean all our wire wheels with an Acidic Alloy Wheel Cleaner, I forget the brand name.

The acid is VERY diluted so doesn't harm the wheels or tyres at all.

Spray it on, brush it in (we also have special brushes), leave for a few minutes and hose off.

Job done!

I hope that is of some help.

Cheers.

Martin,
thanks for that I'll re-investigate the product bottles to see what they are. If you do remember the product name that would be great as I'd rather use something that's been proved OK already.

Ray,
the wires with spinners do look great, they're on my Spitfire rather than the Morris, though only when clean. 40 screwheads what fun, then there's the second wheel.
