clutch pedal full then select 1st gear - difficult to select 1st gear when you stop the car ( when off engine )? remember you can not to select gears like this from 3 to 1 or from 4 to 1 when the running car - only you can select from 2 to 1 but you must very very slow like going to stop or on the stop position the car - You can select 1st gear on the stop position the car or when you run in the bad hills, when going to stop the car on the 2nd gear.come noise when wrong selection gears

There is no syncromesh on first gear, you should only engage it when the car is stationary.
If the car is moving at all you can pull away in second gear.

There is no synchromesh on 1st gear so if you need to select 1st whilst moving, eg on a steep hill then you will need to double declutch. When stationary it is good practise to select 2nd then 1st

You need to check the clutch is freeing off completely. As others have said - easier if completely stopped, and many will pull the lever back in to 2nd gear (to stop the gear train whirling) and then push forward in to 1st gear. Same applies with reverse. You MUST NOT crunch it in to gear - I see new laygears are no longer available for either box - and it's the 1st gear teeth on the laygear that are being ground away when you make the crunch noise!

If it's very noisy while in first gear, and there is enough (engine) oil in it then the box is on it's last legs and you should be looking for another one.
