Cutting out on tickover

I have just begun to drive my new Traveller. Its got a 1275 (940g ?) head and matching carb ie. NOT a normal 1098. I cant remember the number of the carb off hand, but know its the one recommended for the head. Its beginning to cut out when I come to a stop, or at lights when ticking over in neutral,I guess it needs the tick over increasing slightly? Is that done the same way as on a normal carb, just turning a screw,or is it more involved?

Just tweak the idle screw down slightly. But also check if the mixture is correct.

Cheers BMC, yes I think I'll have to mess cos I fixed (I hope) an oil leak yesterday and I assume the engine must have been set to run with this leak. I've also got an oil pressure guage in this car, what should my readings be? The pressure seems to vary from 30psi on tickover, to 75psi when Im accelerating hard. It sits around 65psi when cruising. I'm hoping thats OK,but it was slightly lower with the oil leak.

The oil leak has nothing to do with either.......the pressure readings are perfect.

I'm ever so pleased the readings are OK,my Saloon has no oil pressure gauge so I never think about its oil pressure!
