semi choked exhaust

just out of the garage still trying to trace this clunking noise from the near side . I decided to unclamp all the exhaust and spin it a bit more away from the body . Loosend all of the exhaust clamps then on taking off the exhaust at the manifold was horrified to see that some clown had fitted the exhaust with so much paste the pipe which is approx . 1.5" wide was closed down to about 3/4" choked with excess paste, surely this must have some bearing on the running of the car , even although its running great

Indeed! Although just possible it had made a nice venturi effect that acted as an extractor........but I doubt it !
