MOT failure

went for the MOT yesterday, was a bit worried about the halfshaft seal playing up again, but it held and is still not leaking. however failed on the nearside rear brakes, both foot and hand brake. ( nothing happening) at least everything else was fine. stripped out the back brakes to day, and found the left rear cylinder siezed solid and the other one semi siezed, apart from the internals being siezed the actual cylinders were pretty solid in the back plate ( not able to move up or down), this could be why when ever i tried to adjust the rear brakes i could never get the brakes to lock up with the adjuster screw turned up. any way, new cyilinders fitted, ( did not want to go through the back plate, had to file a bit of the bottom lip off, ) but at least they are free to slide up and down, new shoes, only need to bleed them tomorrow then retest. ( left the beehive springs off, having spent far to long trying to fit them) regards steve
