hi great nostalgia,
I worked full time in a bank in '69(when we were good guys )
I picked up £42 per month and my wages were around £640 pa,I now know I was worth less than a moggie
I didn't stay too long

but what was the minor the equivalent of to todays cars? a golf? a focus?

You'd be looking at £18k for either of those (with numberplates and seatbelts ), so your years wages being less than the price of a car is pretty on the mark for someone just out of college. I don't know how old you were when working in your bank though.

Pfft. I'd say more bmw 3-series, front engine rwd, go sidways... And my sports 2door delux model is more like the M3! So i'd say they were a bargain back then
