Heater Unit

Thanks for looking.

Does anyone have any tips on how to clean up an internal heater unit for the Minor 1000. Both the front plate and the plastic side pieces. I am a bit loathed to start attacking it, especially the front plate, for fear of terminal damage.

Henrietta has been out in Cyprus with us for 3 years and unfortunaely, the sun/heat got to her more delicate parts. MOT is looming next week and I have a complete internal trim pack to fit to make her all shiny and new-like again, but unless I can clean the heater up a bit, its going to stand out like a sore thumb.

Any advice appreciated.

If your heater is the later type(not circular) then I found that
a tin of Matt black spray paint over the front panel and the left
and right plastic corners made it look quite smart. Only problem
was that the words had to be touched in afterwards with white.
If yours is bad enough to need rubbing down to the metal then
you can buy black crackle finish spray cans.

Thanks Willie.

I will need to look out for the can of Crackle Paint, I think. Its quite bad.

Tnx for the tip as I have not heard of crackle paint so now I know what to look for. Also, my wife is a dab-hand with a little paint brush for the white bits so I should be OK.

Rgds
