High Lift Cam

I've searched the forum but ...
What is, and how can I identify if I have, a high lift cam - my 4 door saloon is a Series 2 MM with a 948 Gold Seal Engine - According to the workshop manual this effects the contact breaker gap. Also, as the manual is slightly ambiguous on this, how many degrees before TDC should I set the timing to?
Many thanks as always for any contribution

Are you asking about the cam that operates the points or the valves?
I'm not aware of a high lift cam for points, just symmetric and asymmetric I think.

Its on the sidevalve engine that the later distributor had a high-lift cam which meant increasing the contact gap from 10-12 thou to 14-16 thou
