Morris Minor Clubs of Kent proudly present present their long awaited end of season rally the 20th Annual Kent Branches Hop!!


The 2012 Kent Branches HOP will be held at Fort Amherst near Chatham Docks on Sunday 16th of September 2012.

 The Kent Branches HOP is the annual rally organised by and for the Morris Minor Clubs branches of Kent : the North West Kent Borders, Kent, and East Kent branches. Other marques of classic car are of course very welcome! The entry fee includes reduced entry to the tunnels at Fort Amherst, exclusive rally plaque, entry to the self judging and 30 mile rally around the beautiful Kent countryside. All profits of the rally go to charity. Book early to ensure plaque and entry in program. We often get entries ranging from pre-war Austins to modern classics as well as plenty of Morris Minors of course! This is a charity rally and this year we are raising money for Family Matters a charity for survivors of domestic abuse and violence.

Napoleonic re-enactments will be staged on the day of the Hop rally!

Simmitc, the ~30 mile rally route starts this year in Gravesend and the route is through the beautiful Kent countryside finishing at the Hop venue which for this year is Fort Amherst near Chatham Historic dockyard.

A 30 MILE run is what I expect from the Hop (always very enjoyable when I've attended), but 30 minutes (as quoted when I posted) seemed a bit mean - I see that the edit has amended it I'd always recommend attending, a shame that it's gone a week later than usual, but we can live with that for what looks like an excellent event.

The Hop rally run route is currently being devised, so I'm not sure exactly how long the run will last in either minutes or miles! I do know that the run will start at Gravesend and after a drive through the beautiful Kent country side will end at the rally venue. The Hop organised run will probably in the order of 20- 30miles. How long it takes depends on how fast you drive! The Hop rally event itself lasts all day from about 9am to 4 or 5PM ish.

Look forward to seeing you there! I may be in either car pictured or, if I can manage to get the 4-door restored by then will be in my 1970 Snowberry white 4-door saloon. Please say hello!
