Steering Wheel Interchangable???

I rather like the three spoke Morris Minor steering wheel. Can I replace the two spoke steering wheel in my 1969 traveller with an earlier three spoke type? If it is possible are any modifications required and is the horn push interchangeable?
Thanks. Steve.

Steve,
The steering wheel is interchangeable (34mm thin walled 1/2" drive socket for removal). You will however need a different horn push. Disconnect the battery when you changeover or you'll wake up the neighbourhood.
Regards
Declan

I too prefer the 3 spoke dished steering wheel which fits the spline, not the earlier flat wheel which fits on a keyway

The dished 3 spoke banjo from any earlier Morris 1000.

The 3 spoke from the Minor 1000 (not the mottled plastic carry over from the Morris 8 Series E) was marketed as a 'safety sprung' steering wheel with recessed horn push/column to avoid impalement.... don't know why they did away with it.
