knocking left wheel

Hi everybody

I've replaced all the rubber on the steering mechanism close to the wheel, changed the bearings of the frontwheels, including seals and spacers.
But I stell get a knocking sound on the left side when riding over small bumps.
When braking hard, my steering wheel shakes too.
What else should i look for and where to get the spare parts?

Kind regards
Sevrien from Belgium

Check the following:- front tie bars and rubbers, track rod ends, front damper mounting bolts. Double check all the suspension bolts.

Check that the bolts holding the shock absorber are not loose.
Don't go bonkers tightening them up though, if the threads strip you have a bigger problem.

tie bars and rod-ends are OK,
about to check the damper bolts.

The damper should need an overhaul/replacement actually, could that be the problem too?
Are there any other joints between the steering gear and the wheels?

They would have to be in a dreadful state to start knocking, unless they leak an oil change is normally all that's needed.
The old stuff will be smelly and thin, 20/50 will be fine, thicker oil will make them firmer which means less body roll on the corners.
