I have searched topics for an answer to this but got nothing back - so apologies if this has been covered. I assume that once the system is charged with fuel there should be no air in the supply line - but there is. The Fuel pump sucks in air from somewhere (bubbles appear on the outlet side of the pump. I changed the pump and installed a new fuel line - the problem still occurres. I've checked and tightened the olives at either end (no sealing compound used). Still bubbles. Any ideas most welcome.

I had a problem with mine new su pump, in that the pump would continuously pump every 5 seconds with just the ignition switched on but not running, causing the float chamber to overfill. Fitting another new pump under warranty done the trick. Could be your new pump has a fault.

If the float bowl floods - the problem is with the valve in the float chamber - NOT the pump. Don't worry about bubbles - how do you know you have these bubbles anyway - fitted an unnecessary fuel filter??

I know there are bubbles 'cause the line between the pump and the carb is clear. There's no problem with flooding. I'll plough on with other things and hope the problem goes away ;-(
