Hi just started the engine for the first time since new head gasket fitted, started fine, sounds and runs ok, but after about half an hour noticed a slight weep of coolant/water coming from the drivers side, block to head joint, re torqued the head to 44lbs, ran engine again, and still weeping on drivers side. i hope this does not mean another gasket job!!, also the oil pipe has sprung a leak where it goes onto the oil filter, never a dull day.

Was it a 'copper faced' gasket - and were the surfaces perfectly clean - and a thin smear of grease on both faces ? Worry more about the oil leak - it could get serious quickly.

hi the oil pipe + filter head is now off, cant see any problem with it at all, no splits or cracks on pipe or coupling nut, i will give it a good clean up and carefull reasembly, and see how it goes, might put a smear of sealant on the threads?, with the head problem, i am tempted to torque it down a bit more and try some k seal, before going down the new gasket route.

K seal is the work of the Devil......... 44 ft lbf is enough if you have the original studs and nuts.... Best not to go above that.
